Covid19 Update from Summit Sotheby’s

We want to keep you informed on the status of our Summit Sotheby’s Real Estate offices. The State of Utah has announced, beginning Saturday, May 16, 2020, the majority of Utah is shifting from “Moderate Risk” (Orange) to “Low Risk” (Yellow) on the Utah Leads Together plan. However, the State has exempted Summit County, Wasatch County, and Salt Lake City, and allowed those areas to remain at the higher risk level of Orange. The following is how the changes affect our offices: SUMMIT AND WASATCH COUNTY OFFICES Summit County and Wasatch County requested to remain at level Orange based upon testing levels. This request was granted by the State. The proposed Summit County Order moves almost all industries in Summit County to the Orange Level contained in the Utah Leads Together Plan, including real estate. Wasatch County has all industries at level Orange as well. The Orange Level continues to direct companies to have employees and agents work from home unless it is impossible to do so. The new orders do not have additional restrictions on real estate brokerages or agents beyond the standard Orange business restrictions. The only significant change that you should be aware of is that open houses may now be allowed in all counties. However, no agent should conduct an open house unless they are comfortable placing themselves in that situation and their sellers have been fully advised as to the potential risks involved. The State has indicated they will reevaluate this in one to two weeks and believe that both counties may be moved to Yellow status in the very near future. SALT LAKE OFFICE Salt Lake City received an exemption and will also remain at level Orange. No changes have occurred from our previous policy for this area and office. DRAPER OFFICE Draper City has moved to level Yellow. Level Yellow is “Low Risk” and allows for offices to open. Companies are required to comply with social distancing and health guidelines. Based upon this, the Draper office is now open to agents and their assistants for normal use. Staff will continue to work from home until restrictions are lifted for all of Salt Lake County. Contact your Broker for additional information. ST. GEORGE OFFICE St. George has moved to level Yellow. Level Yellow is “Low Risk” and allows for offices to open. Companies are required to comply with social distancing and health guidelines. Based upon this, the St. George office is now open to agents and their assistants for normal use. The office will now be staffed and is open to the public. As indicated above, these changes will take effect for our company beginning May 18, 2020. As a company we want to reiterate the need to protect yourselves, your clients and the public at large. We work in a unique industry in which our clients entrust us with access to their homes. The need to safeguard these homes and our clients remains paramount. Please continue to implement social distancing and health guidelines for showing homes. I am encouraged by the positive step this is for our State and our industry. We look forward to continued positive news in the future and are optimistic that we will have all offices open and fully operational soon. Stay safe, happy, healthy and strong. We hope to see you soon! Peter and Damon
